Oh Wendy, I just love this post and it gave me all the feels. I hold space for you and your daughter and how the seasons impact each of you. I am definitely with your daughter; I love fall! I miss it and even winter a little bit. Having been a Saturday 5 o’clocker at The Basilica, there was always something so sacred and holy about walks through the chilly Minnesota air into the warmth of The B, and then back out into the chilly dark night after Mass: the stillness, the calm. Thank you for giving me space to grieve and hold that as I continue embracing the sacred and holy of my “new” life in the desert out here.
Thanks for describing the sacredness of this Angela, and what the walks in Mpls meant to you, through the seasons, and coming in and out of The B. It's lovely, what you wrote. Blessings as you continue to let go and grieve, keeping yourself open to what is there.
We love fall at our house. For some reason Halloween has become one of our favorite holidays. And apple orchards and pumpkin patches have become fall tradition. It gets so busy as we try and squeeze in some last outdoor adventures before the long winter. But we are blessed to have so many seasons to experience here in Minnesota. Our youngest is already dreaming of the large snow piles he can play in... that's too much for me. One season at a time. :)
Another season of Autumncholy descends upon us! I love your daughter’s thinking she’ll awake and the leaves will have all turned and she’ll be jumping in them. Unfortunately that’s how fast autumn goes it seems. Off to make some apple crisp to hang onto the season as long as I can. Hugs my spring time friend. Great piece!
Autumncholy--a term I've never heard before but will have to tuck away! And ooooh I do love apple crisp. More than pie. The crumbles on top! As for my daughter, it's amusing to me but then I think about snowstorms--and how our world really CAN look drastically different when we wake the next day!!
Such thoughts to ponder! I loved the leaves of color, but I too am a spring girl waiting for things to come back to life after the winter slumber.
I think of Heather’s move to Florida and how she won’t have to throw out all her beautiful plants and wonder if I could handle a move to a climate of all year summer. Another thought to ponder!

Halloween is HUGE for those of us raising littles! And yes, the pumpkin patches and apple orchards are calling...

That would be a real culture shift for the gardener-within-us!
